Women & Wine on Wednesdays was created by Linda Brewster Meffert in early 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a way for women to improve lifestyle balance by re-connecting with friends, making new acquaintances, and being open to develop new ideas and relationships.

Christy Hackenberg and Gaby Tillero created the branding for the concept, after mutual friend, Sandra Lombana introduced them to Linda Meffert. The four women founded the New Orleans location in 2005.

Over the years, many women in many cities have come to enjoy this same opportunity made available by the expansion of Women & Wine on Wednesdays into cities around the country.

About Women & Wine on Wednesdays - Raleigh

Raleigh's Business & Social Network for Women is pleased to introduce the founder of Raleigh's Women & Wine on Wednesday

Stephanie ElBialy Clare Luffman

Stephanie Stalls ElBialy returned to her home state of North Carolina to set up residence in Raleigh in February 2010 after living and working abroad for several years.  An avid traveler and reader, Stephanie found the multicultural dynamic in the Raleigh area exciting and unique.  She was inspired to bring Women and Wine on Wednesday to the vibrant female professionals that live in the Wake County area.  Stephanie hopes to help build a rapport and central community interest amongst Raleigh’s natural powerhouses: its women.  Stephanie is married and works for a financial services company in Cary, N.C.

Clare Luffman is originally from Long Island, NY, but has made North Carolina her home since 1995. She’s never regretted her decision to move, as she absolutely loves Raleigh!  Her husband of eight years and their five-year-old son live in the Falls River neighborhood in North Raleigh.  After attending just one Women and Wine on Wednesday event, Clare knew this was something special. There’s nothing quite like getting to know another woman over a glass of wine.  Clare’s excited to help Stephanie grow this group.  Whether you own your own business, like to support other woman-business owners,  would like to create new friendships, and.or would like to make a difference in our community….come and join us for a glass of wine at an upcoming meeting!
