Women & Wine on Wednesdays was created by Linda Brewster Meffert in early 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a way for women to improve lifestyle balance by re-connecting with friends, making new acquaintances, and being open to develop new ideas and relationships.

Christy Hackenberg and Gaby Tillero created the branding for the concept, after mutual friend, Sandra Lombana introduced them to Linda Meffert. The four women founded the New Orleans location in 2005.

Over the years, many women in many cities have come to enjoy this same opportunity made available by the expansion of Women & Wine on Wednesdays into cities around the country.

Evelyn Flynn is a native of Shreveport, La.  She attended Captain Shreve High School and then onto  Northwestern State University.  She moved to Baton Rouge and began her selling career in the retail industry. In 1984 her career in sales moved her into the promotional industry.  After 7 years of working in the promotional industry for another company, she challenged herself and decided to pursue her dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Her passion for the promotional industry evolved into Adworks Promotions, Inc. in 1991.  Please visit our website to learn more about how we can help you promote your organization – we service all your promotional products needs – from apparel to glassware to pens and more.  Evelyn’s favorite hobbies are hunting, fishing and playing tennis. I really enjoy every third Wednesday of the month at Women & Wine on Wednesdays, meeting the new ladies and socializing with all women that come out to the events.

Kelly Naquin Anderson is originally from Houma, LA where she spent time fishing and playing sports with her two big brothers. Kelly’s heart was always with LSU, where she graduated in Communication Studies. While there, Kelly was part of the 1st ever Conference Championship team for LSU while also managing The Bicycle Shop on Highland Rd. For the next eight years, she enjoyed sales in the auto industry as part of the SATURN of Baton Rouge/Gerry Lane organization as a consultant, sales manager, and finance & insurance specialist. Kelly is experiencing a rewarding career as a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual. (click here to contact Kelly.)  She and her team  are able to serve their clients by helping them protect their families and businesses and reach their financial goals utilizing insurance, investments, and employee benefits. Meeting and connecting people in the greater BR area is something that Kelly enjoys along with riding with the Baton Rouge Bike Club. Kelly and her husband of 5 years, Larry Anderson, live in Gonzales and enjoy spending time with family, friends, and their 5 dogs. Kelly says, “Thank you for your interest in Women & Wine on Wednesday!  I’m looking forward to sharing ideas over a glass of your preferred vino.”

Karen Bilbo Gildersleeve moved to Baton Rouge in 2007 from Bay St. Louis, MS and a two year stint in Virginia Beach, VA. Karen retired from Dupont on the MS Gulf Coast in 2005, after a successful 26 year career in the R&D and Quality Control Laboratories. Karen and her 16 year old daughter love fashion, vintage and the arts, both love to paint and create. Karen has an entrepreneurial spirit that led her to dabble in business ownership for a couple of years and she continues to feel the need to work toward another business dream. Karen has attended many networking events in the Baton Rouge area but loves the atmosphere at the Women & Wine on Wednesday events the most and enjoys creating many wonderful connections.  In fact Karen now works with Evelyn Flynn at Adworks Promotions, Inc. "We developed a friendship that led to our working together. I have such respect for Evelyn as businesswoman, and am happy to have her leading our Women & Wine on Wednesday in Baton Rouge".
